Abuses of Power and Attacks on the Constitution

Since returning to office for a second term, the Donald Trump immediately and deliberately started an assault against the Constitution and the Rule of Law by pardoning over 1500 convicted Jan 6 rioters, including those assaulted police officers, calling them “patriots” who were unfairly treated. He has signed over 150 Executive Orders since Jan 20, 2025 in an attempt to systematically dismantle the Constitution and destroy the Co-Equal Branches of government. 


Below is a list of some of the many constitutional violations that the Trump Administration has committed during its first 100 days in office. All of these violate the oath of office all members of the administration take to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. The constitution prohibits the President and Executive Branch from doing the following:


   1. Withholding funds appropriated by Congress

      a. Trump administration withholding $436.87 billion in approved spending, top Democrats say | Reuters


   2. Closing or suspending the work of an agency, department or program established by Congress

      a. Trump administration orders consumer protection agency to stop work, closes building


   3. Violating laws enacted by Congress to protect civil servants from arbitrary or politically motivated terminations

      a.   Firing over a dozen agency inspectors general without cause and without the 30-day notice required by law.

      b. Trump administration terminates nearly 600 Voice of America employees 


   4. Punishing private institutions based on free speech (law firms, universities and broadcast networks)
